The Wedding Cake..
The wedding cake is normally the centre piece of a reception and is the true symbol of marraige and happiness. Wedding cakes can be round or square with two to four tiers with sugar paste. Generally there is ideas that cakes and decorations to be as unique as possible and although cakes with tiers are favoured most are stacked directly on the tier below.
Most couples like to keep the smallest top tier of the cake to be kept for their first childs christening or to celebrate the first wedding anniversarie.
Cutting the cake is usually carried out after the speeches and toasts and marks the end of the formalities. Once the married couple have cut the cake it is then sliced and shared out amongs the guests.
